Joseph Corsaro (David’s grandfather) came to the United States at the age of 8 from Calabria Italy. At the young age of 13, he left school to help make money for his immigrant family living in Port Chester NY. Joseph’s first job was working in a flower shop. Joseph then met Mary and they married. Mary was a seamstress and helped save money to buy their home together. David’s grandmother’s sister, Ida, owned a bridal boutique where she made beautiful bridal gowns. In fact, she made David’s mother JoAnn’s wedding gown. Joseph continued to work at the flower shop for 35 years and eventually purchased the shop growing it into a successful business. This is where David’s career began: His family’s history in the wedding industry, coupled with David’s blossoming interest in fashion and beauty, inspired him at the age of 19 to begin his career in event planning and design.
Today, DAVIDTUTERA presides over an award-winning company built from experience, and dedication.
